Don GreeneSports Psychologist |
Dr. Don Greene was the Sports Psychologist for the 1984 Olympic Diving Team and the 1986 World Championship Swimming and Diving Teams. For more than a decade, he counseled professionals on the PGA, LPGA, and mini-tours, and trained many seasoned veterans to win their first events on tour. Dr. Greene also worked with Division I golf teams (Arizona, Oklahoma, Cal) and served as a consultant to the American Junior Golf Association. Don Greene was a nationally ranked high school springboard diver, who received an athletic appointment to West Point. After graduating, he went through paratrooper training and Ranger School, and served in the Army's Green Berets. These early high-pressure, demanding endeavors gave him a deep understanding and empathy for those who are involved in critical performance situations. He received his Master's Degree from George Washington University and his Ph.D. in Psychology from U.S. International University in San Diego. His doctoral dissertation demonstrated how the Sports Psychology technique of Centering could improve the performance of police SWAT officers under high stress. Dr. Greene met Parker McLachlin in Hawaii in 2002. Since then, the relationship has had a transformative effect on Parker. For more on this story, "McLachlin Masters Mind Games", click here. |
